We are seeking an experienced Lead Sprint Test Engineer to provide technical leadership, people management, and quality advocacy across our sprint teams. This role is pivotal in ensuring high standards of software quality while enabling efficient and predictable delivery within an Agile environment. You will lead and mentor test engineers, shape testing strategy, and remain hands-on where required to support delivery.
It will be your responsibility to:
People Leadership & Line Management
- Provide effective line management through regular 1:1s, formal performance reviews, and ongoing coaching.
- Own career development, growth plans, and performance management for direct reports.
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of functional, regression, API, performance, and security testing activities.
- Ensure comprehensive test coverage and adherence to best practices across all sprint teams.
- Maintain accountability for quality standards without compromising delivery timelines.
- Partner closely with the CTPO to define project scope, forecast demand, allocate resources, and set realistic delivery goals and timelines.
- Act as the quality ambassador within sprint teams, ensuring active participation in refinement, estimation, and sprint ceremonies.
- Promote collaboration between testers, developers, and product stakeholders.
- Remain technically engaged by contributing directly to testing activities where needed to support sprint delivery and team capacity.
- Analyse testing metrics, trends, and outcomes to identify risks, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
- Define, refine, and enforce quality standards, testing practices, and tooling strategies to drive long-term improvements.
- Foster an inclusive, high-performance culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
